"Roy's bearers waited."

This fine old print from 1906 was done by American artist Charles Relyea and features "Roy Porter;" a small town boy held aloft by his happy teammates as his admiring parents watch. Roy's proud dad is tipping his top hat back in a day when people wore fancy duds to baseball games; a day long ago gone by.

This delightful black and white Edwardian Era antique print measures 5 5" x 7.25" overall. The print itself is 3.75 x 5" (about the same size as a postcard.) It's in wonderful condition with square and sound edges and corners with a touch of light tanning. Perfect for the "small town kid who done good" who lives in all of us. This little heroic young fellow would be ever so charming framed. This piece is signed in the bottom right corner; C. M. Relyea.
Charles M. Relyea (1863–1932) was an American book illustrator whose work appeared in popular novels during the early part of the Twentieth century. There are several of Relyea's lovely Indian Maiden prints in this shop as well. (Look for the link below.)

Matted, framed and displayed as a gallery grouping, these wonderful vintage kid's prints are simply spectacular. (Please note that the framed examples in the last two photos are just to show how this might look when it's matted and framed. Your print will come unmtted and unframed.)
