I admire the unique and artful design of the Quilts of Gee's Bend, Alabama and I had them in mind when I made this brooch.

I made it with antique paper found on my grandparents farm and one little aqua painted rectangle.

The base is a wooden rectangle painted black that measures 2 3/4" x 1 1/4" (7.2 cm x 3.1 cm) and is very strong, light-weight, and durable. This one is slightly asymmetrical. I glazed the brooch with a soft gloss for protection and it fastens with a 1" bar pin. Each brooch is signed on the back in permanent white ink.

It makes a wonderful little gift and looks great on a coat, sweater, hat, bag, or anywhere else you might want to wear it.
