Title: Aim the Cannons

Date taken: 2010

Where: Fort Sumter, Charleston, South Carolina

Description: I am a big Civil War buff and love to travel to the different historic battlefields. Of course, Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor is famous for being the location where the war began. Civil War sites give me a little bit of everything...they have that industrial feel combined with the majestic silence of the nature that surrounds them. Plus, given that the sites are 150+ years old, there is natural attrition and decay which just adds to the historical mystique. I like to close my eyes in sites like this and imagine what the day of battle must have been like. Utter chaos and fear mixed with adrenaline and rage. A testament to all our nation has endured.

Size: Printed on 8.5"x11" stock, image has white borders to maintain proper ratios and is therefore slightly smaller. ALSO AVAILABLE IN OTHER SIZES, UP TO 17X22, please email me if interested.

Technical stuff: The photo is printed by a professional Epson Stylus 4900 photo printer on Exhibition Fiber Paper with a slight gloss finish. Archival quality inks are used for a manufacturer's suggested life-span of 200 years.
