These toys are so much fun for the cats! The very first one I made was over six feet long, and Lela the cat loved to grab one ball then run down the hallway with the other ball flying along behind her. Sometimes she would slink away, and all you could see was a ball at the end of a string slowly moving across the floor.

You can hang the toy on a doorknob and leave them to their own devices, or stand up and swing the balls-this is how we attempt to get Lela and Norman to play together! Other suggestions include playing fetch (with the string attached you get your ball back either way!) or stringing it across a room so the cats have a string to jump for!

This particular toy was knit with cotton for the string, and multiple strands of various wool and cotton for the balls. The balls are knit with more yarn so they have a thick wall to hold in their catnip, stuffing, shaker and bell. The stiff wall should also make them more difficult to rip apart for those kitties who like to destroy. One ball holds the shaker while the other holds the bells.

3 1/2" across the ball
95" string
