The bold geometric lines of the leaf and vine pattern used for this cozy/cowl give it an art deco feel. If women wore cowls in the 30’s and 40’s I imagine they might look like this one. Make this pattern in the cozy size to fit close around your neck or make it in the cowl size for more drape. The stitch pattern takes on a beautiful lacey look when knit in sock weight or fingering weight yarn, and is great for wearing indoors or in warmer climates. This cowl/neck cozy makes a wonderful gift, the easy stitch pattern will get lots of compliments!
Great take-along project to work on while watching the kids at soccer or baseball. Or when you are waiting at the doctors office or when traveling. It's also a perfect project to tuck into one of my Sock Knitters Bags, you can get this pattern for free if you purchase one of them!

Skill level:
advanced beginner - requires basic knowledge of knitting
The stitch pattern looks much more complicated than it is! The pattern is worked only on every other row, alternating with plain knitting so it is very easy to follow. After a few inches you will see how the pattern develops and may not even need the directions. There is no chart to follow for this pattern, all instructions are written.
