Madame Curie Woman Scientist Historical Art Doll Miniature

Marie Skłodowska Curie, born 1867 – died 1934, was a physicist and chemist of Polish upbringing and, subsequently, French citizenship. She was a pioneer in the field of radioactivity, the first person honored with two Nobel Prizes, receiving one in physics and later, one in chemistry. She was also the first woman to serve as professor at the University of Paris.

I fashioned Madame Curie in a simple dark brown dress accented in black lace. Her hair is style in an upswept chignon, and in her hands she even has a flask and a bottle with some "test material" for her next experiment!

Madame Curie stands at a tiny 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 centimeters) and is uniquely designed out of wood, wire, clay, and paint.
