Asparagus derives its name from the ancient Greeks. Folklore credits eating asparagus with everything from curing toothaches to being a reproductive tonic. What a variance!

This tile is hand~sculpted and hand~pressed using high~fire stoneware and a multitude of overlaying high~fire glazes. The hand~pressed background shows my finger indentations which allows light to playfully cast shadows of depth. The high relief sculpted asparagus stems are built individually one element at a time. Since each tile is built one at a time, each one is unique in character as well with ever-so-slight variations.

The tile measures approximately 4 x 6 inches and the base is approximately 5/8 inches thick.

Display Options ~
. Notched on back to hang on nail for wall mount.
. Display on small easel to set on flat surface.
. May be grouted into kitchen back splash, however, I recommend in a low-traffic area.
