Be: to have one’s existence in a certain state or condition...

Be Sterling... sterling silver early Victorian repousse brooch with a compartment for mementos or mourning items. The brooch is very ornate with an etched flower in the center, and a great deal of fine detail elements. The memento compartment is in the back of the brooch and has a ring to hold stuff in, but without glass or plastic. The closure is a hinge pin with a C clasp with a safety latch.

Condition: in good vintage condition, there are some tiny little dents on the front, and the missing glass of the ring in back. Brooch could use cleaning.

Dimensions: 1.25” square

Hallmarks: there is a hallmark on the back corner, a diamond shape that is cut into sections with a ‘2’ ‘13’ ‘K’ ‘W’ around a central shape with an ‘R’ in it. Not certain what any of it means, and the brooch is not marked sterling, but I believe that it it.
