PLEASE NOTE: Any "white spotting" seen on the orange color of these pieces is strictly due to photo glare. There is NO missing paint.

These gorgeous, Vintage Japan Made, Relief Molded Pitchers/Jugs are absolutely stunning! Done in a Creamy White and Orange, they feature large Roses, smaller Sunflowers or Daisies, what appear to be Forget-Me-Nots and more, all done in raised relief. I believe these were made by one of the premier Japan Makers, however, Japan maker's marks are so plentiful, it is difficult to be sure which one to attribute them to. The inkstamp on the bottom of each of the 2 pieces is done in an orange-y red with what appears to be a double "M" at the top.

The largest piece measures 6.5" tall and is 7.5" wide, measured from the edge of the handle to the tip of the spout. The smaller, identical piece is 4.25" tall and approx. 5" wide. Both are in Excellent Condition with no visible damage. There is, however, typical age crazing noted on the white (more of a creamy, aged white) portions on both pieces. Also, there is an area, near the bottom of the larger pitcher, where a discoloration is noted. This appears as a dark gray colored line, encircling the piece and is beneath the glaze. There is a smaller bit of this same coloring on the smaller jug as well, but this is a much smaller section. Neither of these age, or use marks cause much concern due to the age of the set and the fact that old pottery often shows staining similar to this. I found NO cracks, NO chips and NO other issues! As noted in the photos, there is a small stroke of paint on the larger piece's handle. This was done in production and is NOT considered damage. I believe these date to the late 1920's to the mid 1930's era, however, I am not an expert, but have done a bit of research on the pair. Now on Sale!

This is a truly beautiful set that would mix well with other Pottery, Glass, China or simply to be a centerpiece in your cabinet. If you would like to see further photos, please feel free to write and I will be happy to forward them to you. Likewise, I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
