Vintage art deco ice cream spoons, silverplate set of 8. The art deco pattern is Court, 1939.
These unusual spoons are smaller than a traditional teaspoon, and look like a miniature shovel, with a wide, shallow bowl. Ice cream spoons were originally used during Victorian times at informal meals to eat frozen dessert served on a plate.
They each measure approximately 5 1/8" long.
They are marked on the back: COURT SILVER PLATE
They are in vintage condition, they do show significant wear. They have regular usage wear, some tarnish, and they do have spots of plate loss throughout, particularly in some of the bowls (see closeup of bowls). Minor wear to some of the heels.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for looking!
