Scandanavian folk art, tole painted rosemaling wooden bucket. Marked on the bottom "Hilsen fra Tonsberg", a town in Norway. This is absolutely gorgeous with some natural aging and wear to the paint, but still very vibrant with most of the paint still present. I'm guessing this is from the 1950s, but it could definitely be an earlier piece. Measures approx. 10" tall by 11 1/2" in diameter. Made like a barrel, with individual pieces of wood formed in a circle and banded together. Decorative painted design goes all the way around the body and appears on both sides of the handle as well.
