Lovely book by Herman Melville in wonderful condition, Published by The Heritage Press 1963.
Fantastic Illustrations by Miguel Covarrubias. Originally published 1846. This is a beautiful copy, almost like new.

Book is beautuful cloth hardcover with wonderful brown, tan and cream south seas Tribal design. Title in spine with same design but slighly different coloring. Book approx 6 1/2" by 9 1/2 ".

Both binding and spine are great.

Pages are great , clean and crisp with almost no yellowing. Illusrations are colorfull and bright and are truely unique. no bookplates or writing in book. Total 409 pages.

Book comes light tan cardboard sleeve in very good condition, no damage at all. Only very light fading on very edge of opening.

Story about the escape from the whaling ship of Melville and Toby Greene, the story of their sojourn among the south Sea natives, and the story of their escape from the South seas.

Have seen listed elsewhere for over $100.00.
