Golden brass .38 Special bullet casing is deeply etched in a rustic barbed wire pattern and securely holds a polished red agate point with etched swirl detail - very unusual! A patina has been applied to enhance the design. This necklace is ideal to wear alone or for layering with its extra long chain!

Bullet casing and agate pendant measures 1-3/4" long and 3/8" in diameter. Sterling silver plated chain is 36" long and simply pops over your head - super length to wear on its own or layering with other chains and pendants - very versatile!

Perfect gift for the shooting/hunting enthusiast or spouse, policewoman, armed forces and anyone with a penchant for the unusual!

Each bullet casing is tumbled for several hours to restore a new-like shine then etched, a patina is applied to enhance the details and then the casing is tumbled again ensuring that no gunpowder residue remains.

The etched bullet casings used in my jewelry are protected with a coating of Renaissance wax. With use, the wax will eventually wear off but you can restore the shine with a small amount of brass cleaner and then maintain with a thin coat of car wax.

Some bullet casing jewelry is sometimes coated with a lacquer but I have never seen this be successful over a period of time and it always seems to flake off leaving an uneven finish. As with all brass jewelry, do not wear when in the shower or swimming.

If you like the warm brown tones of aged brass, do nothing - it all depends on what finish you like best!

All of the bullet casings I use have been collected from a professional firing range. I have been told that my etched bullet jewelry is airport friendly - the 'dimple' in the primer clearly showing that the bullet has been previously fired and that no gunpowder remains.

Bullet casing and red agate necklace ships in a cotton lined box suitable for gift-giving.
