Vintage white cotton muslin petticoat dating to the late 1890's to early 1900's years. This is an authentic period petticoat, not a reproduction. The simple A line fullness was the perfect fit under those wonderful garden tea party summer white dresses.

The petticoat is full length and looks to be a home made item. It is completely original. The waist band closes with a hook and eye. The ruffle is double layered and the valenciennes lace flounce layer is 11 1/2 in. wide. There are 4 of the arched inset panels shown in the closeup. There are some very small pinholes in the fabric (near the top) and a few marks. However it is very sturdy and will stand up well to actual wearing and future cleanings.

Waist: 24 in.
Hip: 38 in
Length: 32 in.
Circumference at hem: 56 in.

This was acquired from a family estate of local area historians (2 generations worth). Because of the markings on the waistband, it's quite possible it was a donation to their local museum at one time. Comes from a rural farming region in western NY.
