A set of three small earthenware cups. An odd number I know, but sometimes that's how things roll.

I make things in series, a dozen or so at a time. The items in a session all hold a similar mark of hand, a slip used, a chosen claybody. These three are married together by their similar finish of iron-rich slip over local white earthenware, a solid foot marked by a thumbprint and the clear crackle glaze that varies in depth of tone and iridescence.

A visual as well as a tactile experience: the outside surfaces feel like well-weathered stone, the interiors are like satin, both designed to capture the migration of smoke as it winds its way through a kiln filled with salvaged white oak and walnut.

Each cup holds approximately 4 oz. and is approximately 2.5 inches high. Their diameters vary from 3 to 4 inches.

Please wash by hand. Made with foodsafe materials.
