Our beeswax candles are made from locally sourced Beeswax from Phillip Island and surroundings. They are carefully handcrafted.

It is the purest and most natural of all waxes, with the least amount of processing and no additives. Colour variations are common and normal.

Beeswax candles are ideal for people with chemical sensitivities or allergies.
It has a subtle honey or floral scent even when it is not burning.

Beeswax is created by honeybees. High-quality beeswax candles are made from the melted and filtered caps that seal the honeycomb and the honeycomb itself.
The wax is produced by worker bees from glands on the ventral side of the abdomen. It is clear when produced but stained yellow from contact with pollen and honey.
Honeybees consume 6-8 pounds of honey to produce one pound of beeswax.

Natural beeswax can range from creamy white to bright yellow, orange, pink and even dark brown. This is due in part to:

- The type of flowers the bees have been foraging on. The wax would be lighter when the bees forage on clover than when they are on something like buckwheat or fireweed.
- The storage conditions. The wax fades in the light. It gets white („bloom“) in the cold.
The bloom is natural and a sign of the purity of the wax.
It can be polished away if you prefer.

General Safety and Burning Tips for Beeswax Candles:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep candles away from children and pets.
- Keep candles away from flammable materials or overly crowded settings.
- Remove paper label from candle before burning.
- Burn candles only in a draft-free environment away from fans, open windows, air ducts, etc. This will help to prevent any dripping or smoking.
- Do not add foreign substances to the melted wax pool (matches, paper, etc).
- Light the wick from the base of the wick, where the wick comes out of the candle, to allow the beeswax to absorb into the wick.
- Trim the wick before use. Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" OR 0.5cm
- Properly extinguish the candle flame, do not blow it out - this will cause splatters and smouldering wicks.
