TUTORIAL Wire Wrapping Banded Prong Cabochon Pendant Step by Step PDF Downloadable Pattern by Perfectly Twisted Jewelry DIY

Learn to make this beautiful Wire Wrapped Prong Cabochon Pendant, using traditional wire wrapping techniques. In this tutorial, you will learn how to use grid paper to Measure for and Plan for prong placement on a symmetrical, oval cabochon. You will also learn how to create the actual prongs along the wire, where they belong and then how to assemble all of that into a gorgeous finished pendant with elegant swirls and curls for the bale design.

I have also created two free supplemental YouTube videos that will help you even more with measurement and prong creation and the links are included in the tutorial document. While you are at my Channel, you might also enjoy some of the other free wire wrapping techniques and patterns I offer there!

Easy to follow instructions. This was my first attempt at doing wirework. I did add extra "pyramids" along the sides of the pendant because I like the look of them.

Great tutorial. Super easy to follow. I was able to make 2 pendnats in the first day. Clear instructions and photos. It is the only tutorial I have ever followed all the way without deciding I wanted to do my own thing half way through:)

Love this! It is my first try at this and I am almost done with it. If you are a beginner, I believe this is a good tutorial to start with.

My thanks to this teacher! As shown, the back of my pendant is not quite pretty enough to qualify the pendant as "reversible," but I learned a lot. A strength of this tutorial is that you don't have to choose your stone immediately, but can wait until you've nearly completed the frame and can, therefore, try this stone and that one for the best fit and match. Because my oval is a bit wide, I wound up with more gap at the top than I wanted, so I inserted a 4mm sterling crimp cover at the base of the stone to help conceal the open wire. Also, having done this once, I can see ways to vary the tutorial just a bit in order to use smaller stones with smaller drill holes, next time. All in all, a challenge for the beginner, but a rewarding experience!
