A beautifully preserved walking leaf framed in a museum display. This insect mimics leafs to camouflage itself from predators. It is the biggest of all walking leaf species and an amazing creature of evolution -- a must for any insect collector.

Species: Phyllium giganteum from Thailand

Framed Walking Leaf Details:
- 11x11 inch shadowbox frame with sealed backing and UV blocking glass.
- A vintage style museum label on back with researched story about your specimen (others don't provide this)
- Hand-crafted with archival materials and high quality frame finish (won't scratch when you run finger nails over it like cheap displays)
- Bug Under Glass is a San Francisco Green Certified Business.

I also have this same species available in a smaller display here:

I use my professional museum experience to preserve and mount sustainable insects. This display is made for a lifetime and won't fade or breakdown like poorly made insect displays.

My background:
I have a Master's degree in Conservation biology and have built my craft business on the foundation of conservation, education and design.

Frequently asked questions about BugUnderGlass

Like all fine artwork, avoid direct sunlight and extreme humidity.
Yes, please contact me with your idea and I can give you a quote.
My insects come from sustainable conservation farms/ranches around the world. I do not sell rare, endangered or insects recognized as unsustainable (Dragonflies, Bats, rare beetles).
By linking environmental stewardship and economic development, butterfly farming positively impacts threatened habitats as well as human well-being. Currently used by conservation organizations, such as the Nature Conservancy and WWF, Butterfly farming helps save rainforest habitat by providing villagers an alternative income to agricultural farming and logging, which clears tropical forest. for more info Google "butterfly farming"
Since these displays are professionally made using UV blocking glass (so colors won't fade) and archival mounting boards - they can potentially last forever if treated with care. Most sellers are hobbyiest and DO NOT use UV glass or use proper materials - -and they will not last.
