Organic cooking Lavender is a premium quality of dried lavender buds with a lavender taste perfect for cooking, baking, tea and of course Lavender Lemon aid. This lavener scent is the traditional soft fragrance we know lavender to be. The taste is soft and pleasing.

This listing is for .5 pounds (250g) of cooking lavender.

Have you tried it in iced or hot tea? How about a nice ice cold glass of lavender lemonade?

Here is our recipe:

Lizzy Lane Farm House Lavender Lemonade

1 tray crushed ice cubes
1/4 cup dried lavender
2 cups boiling water
3/4 cup organic sugar
8 organic lemons
5 cups cold water

Place ice cubes into a 2 quart pitcher. Place the lavender into a bowl, and pour boiling water over it. Allow to steep for about 10 minutes, then strain out the lavender and discard in the compost bin.

Mix the organic sugar into the hot lavender water, then pour into the pitcher with the ice.
Squeeze the juice from the lemons into the pitcher, getting as much juice as you can. I use my Grandmothers old glass juicer. Top off the pitcher with cold water, and stir. Taste, and adjust lemon juice or sugar if desired. Pour into tall glasses, pull up a bale of hay and watch the chickens run around the yard, and relax! (well at least that's what I do, the girls are quite entertaining...)

This is the lavender we use in our soap and other herbals, including:
Dryer Sachets
Organic Lavender Lotion Bar
Organic Lavender Salve
Organic Botanical Perfume Oil

We also offer a craft grade while it still can be used for cooking and other uses it is more of a green or blue grey color color and has a piney scent. The taste is of pine and a bit bitter. It is often used in craft projects such as heating pads and sachets.

The first image is the food grade and the second image is the craft grade in case seeing them side by side will help you decide.

Our fresh dried herbs are offered in 1 ounce, half pound ( 8 ounce) and one pound (16 ounce) bags. While we hate the use of plastic and I always try to avoid it, we will ship your herbs to you in plastic bags. Rest assured the herbs while here at the farm are stored in glass containers inside a wooden cupboard. Only when they are ordered are they put into the plastic bags for shipping. I urge you to transfer them back to glass as soon as you can. I do this to cut down on the shipping costs to you. Glass is heavy and tins can be expensive and costs would far out weight the small risk of contamination if the herbs are in plastic for a day or two. Your bag of lavender will have a removable sticker for you to transfer to your glass container if you wish.
