This is a contemporary fiber art wall sculpture by me, Rachel Hunnicutt. It was hand crafted with acrylic yarn in a deep emerald green color and the form was inspired by the moss and lichen I see when I hike at Oak Mountain State Park here in Alabama.

I love finding interesting forms in nature and am particularly interested in vessel shapes. I hand crochet each individual piece, then carefully arrange them on a wooden base. All of my bases are found at secondhand stores so each one is unique and has its own character. This particular wood base looks like a wood slice with rough edges, but smoothed on the front and back. It has a built-in hanger for easy wall display.

Much love and many good thoughts go into each piece I make. It is so important to me that my work is original and includes special details - I hope you enjoy it!

Measures approximately 8.25 long x 6.5 inches wide (21 x 16.5 cm).

The emerald green yarn I used is a very soft acrylic fiber.

These pieces are stunning when grouped together, so check out my other art for sale:
