Open Pollinated - Tender Annual/Reseeding - Plant in Full Sun

A stately 4-6' beautiful, edible plant with dark purplish-red leaves and burgundy-red flowers. Use young plants to make nutritious steamed greens or add them to soups. Seeds can be ground into a high protein, gluten free flour, cooked for cereal or popped like pop-corn.

Attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds. Drought-tolerant; suitable for xeriscaping. Self-sows freely; deadhead if you do not want volunteer seedlings next season. Flowers are good for cutting, drying and preserving

Flower bract traditionally used by the Hopis to make a food dye to color their ceremonial piki bread.

Package contains approximately 50+ seeds comes with planting directions. Seeds were collected last summer/fall from my Armaranth plants.
