How would you like a slice of Mexican Folklore for your very own...? A Frida Kahlo Day of the Dead handpainted with flowers in her hair waiting to watch over you Sugar Skull is waiting to be welcomed into your home.

Sugar skulls are a common symbol of Dia De Los Muertos celebrated in Mexico right after the American Halloween and during the beginning of November. It's a holiday dedicated to honoring deceased loved ones. The colorful skulls are usually made out of sugar or chocolate and inscribed with the name of the gift recipient on the forehead. Frida seemed like the perfect subject for one of these unique masks. Don't you agree?

My sugar skulls are not edible as delicious as they may look. This paper mache skull measures approx 8.5" x 5 and is painted with great detail then coated with a UV gloss varnish. There is a loop at the top (not shown) so that this may be hung on the wall or I can add holes and ribbon to make it into a mask if you'd like at no charge. The purple flowers on this mask are more of a reddish plum color than the bluish purple that the picture shows. Although it is a mask, this is not full size and really meant for decoration only.

I can also take custom colors. Just convo me and we'll talk.

Thanks for looking!
