Such a sweet little Victorian glass salt, made in England by Stevens & Williams of Stourbridge in the late 19th century.

Made of ruby-red cranberry glass, the little hand-blown cup has an applied clear glass handle and crimped 'flower' feet. There is some uranium content in the clear glass as it glows pale green under black UV light. It is endearingly heart-shaped, and would make a wonderful gift for a loved one, or just to treasure for yourself.

It has two tiny chips on the rim, but no other damage, making it a sweet little piece of Victorian 'shabby chic'! It is unmarked, but guaranteed to be by Stevens & Williams and of around that date. It has a snapped-off pontil on the base.

The salt measures 9 cm/3.5" from handle to lip and is just 5 cm/2" high. It weighs 100 gms and estimated packaged weight is 400 gms.
