This filigree-like leaf is from my garden and now a silver pendant. It hangs from a handmade necklace with alternating colors of small tourmaline beads.

The leaf is a Pulsatilla vulgaris (pasque flower) leaf, which is like nature's version of filigree. I had been wanting to somehow make it into a pendant for a long time, but I didn't feel it was possible with the materials I had. When a new metal clay product came on the market that made extra strong silver, I realized that I could now make this leaf. I covered the leaf with many, many layers of this clay and then fired it in my kiln. It is now 90% silver (almost like sterling silver).

An exquisite pendant like this needs a special chain, so I made a beaded chain of sterling silver wire and tiny tourmaline round beads in green, pink, blue and black. The clasp is a lobster clasp.

The pendant is 4 cm or 1.6 inch long and wide. The chain is 44 cm (17.3 inch) long and can be adjusted to fit you. Let me know what length you would like.
