Sea crossings, during which there was little to do, encouraged non stop dressing. There were tweeds for the gentleman and flannel skirts for the ladies in the morning, suits and silk dresses for lunch, velvet tea gowns for the later afternoon and full evening dress. The best gowns and jewels were brought out for the Captain's dinner at which gentlemen wore their decorations. Life on the CGT La Provence followed the rituals, as can be seen in these watercolors by E. Louis Lessieux.

The listing is for two smaller watercolor reproductions. Thiey are cut from a beautiful, glossy page of a damaged travel themed book. The page is in good condition and they are perfect to frame or for a special art project.
