Great piece for wearing, modifying, decor or other projects. If you know how to mend silk, there are 2 small tears in the lining (shown in photos) that you may want to mend, so it can be worn with inner or outer textile visible to the world.

This handmade kimono was given to me back in the early 80's by a friend returning to Japan, and originally intended for a girl in her mid to late teens (note the extra long sleeves), to be worn in early to mid autumn. The textile design is an ancient one, inspired by arrows. I had it dry cleaned and since then its been stored away, with yearly airings. Stitching quality is great: tiny and regular.

As was typical of home made, vintage and older kimono, the lining has been made from pieces salvaged from even earlier kimono and odd remnants, I like the assortment of autumnal colors the shades of ripe persimmon and pomegranate.

Over all the silk fabric is in great condition, the slubs are a normal characteristic of this weave. Lining is a thinner tissue weight silk and has a few rips, holes and small, old stains due to its being salvaged from older kimono and scraps.
55" long from base of collar to hem
23" armpit to armpit seam
21" length of sleeve (from base of collar to hem of sleeve)
26 x 13 each sleeve panel/ rectangle (each sleeve has 2 sides of fabric, 4 panels total)
