This vintage trio shows groupings of multicolored roses and a sponged or dappled gold edge. The pattern is purposely similar to Old Country Roses by Royal Albert which was wildly popular in Germany during the 1970-80s but a bit pricey. Not wanting to be outdone, this manufacturer created a pattern that had the same look but used porcelain instead of bone china. The handle of the cup is gilded. All three pieces have been marked with the green stamp as shown. It was used by Retsch & Co. Porzellanfabrik, Wunsiedel, Bavaria, Germany from 1955 onwards.

The cup stands 2 3/4 inches tall and measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter on the upper rim. The saucer measures 5 5/8 inches in diameter. The dessert plate measures 7 3/8 inches in diameter.

All three pieces are in very good vintage condition. There are no cracks, crazing nor gilt loss but there is a tiny chip on the rim of the cup that is underneath the gold trim; alas, a small production flaw. Please note that this is a 25+ year old set so some degree of wear should be expected.

We will gladly combine purchases and refund overpaid postage asap.
