A fun set of 1960's ephemera that includes a brochure for the swanky New Orleans Fontainebleau Motor Hotel ("The In-Town Motor Hotel with Resort Living") and six pages of Fontainebleau stationary with three matching envelopes.

The fabulous Fontainbleau blended "striking modern luxury with a legendary old world milieu...the introduction of lavish resort life into a thriving big-city atmosphere." The hotel was just a short stroll away from the French Quarter. The brochure boasted the hotel's amenities: the largest swimming pool in New Orleans, the only separate high diving pool in the South, a special children's wading pool, private 18-hole golf course privileges, outdoor poolside lounge with table service, patio sidewalk cafe, cocktail lounge, Empire dining room, La Fontaine coffee shop, barber shop, beauty salon, men's and women's massage, laundry and valet service, gift shops, specialty shops, free parking area for 700 cars, complete tour service, automatic direct dial telephone in all rooms, and all major credit cards were honored. The hotel was located at 4040 Tulane Avenue in New Orleans.

The brochure is a true delight for the fan of mid-century illustration. One side of the brochure features a scene depicting the "resort living" atmosphere that the hotel is advertising, with sunbathers, swimmers, and couples leisurely enjoying tasty adult beverages in style. The artwork is signed "AW Edwards". The brochure measures and is in good condition. If you are looking at the side with the large drawing, there is a 1 1/2" tear along the creases at the left edge, and a 1/2" tear along the crease on the right edge. The brochure measures 47" x 18".

The stationary measures 9 1/2" x 6". The envelopes measure 6 1/2" x 3 5/8". They are in very good condition - two of the pieces of stationary have a few light small spots - nothing major. The backslide of the envelope's flap has an area for a return address that reads "After 5 Days Return to:".
