Cathy Winter is an upbeat and talented songwriter and folk singer writing original music in a feminist vein.

Listening to Cathy sing these songs of life one understands why she is as popular as she is... She sings with verve and spirit; she has a good, strong voice of melodious natural beauty. Her songs are often about women of strength and perseverance, succeeding against the odds. Other songs celebrate racial harmony and family virtues. Oh yes - her anti-war / pro-peace songs are just fine.

She plays guitar with flair and the accompanying musicians are all excellent.

If ever there was a woman who would write a definitive song about the mythology of womenfolk, it is Cathy Winter. The song, "I Might Be the One", on which she is joined by the Follen Church Junior and Youth Choir is a fine song.

One of Cathy Winter's songs:

I MIGHT BE THE ONE

Daddy, last night I dreamed again
the whole world caught on fire.
Smoke filled my room, and the flames just got higher.
Daddy will I grow up? Oh daddy hold me tight.
I want to get to be as big as you.
is it going to be all right?
The grown-ups' world scares me.
But sometimes I think that ...

Chorus:
I might be the one. I might be the one.
To end all wars forever.
I might be the one. I might be the one.
To show the world how to live in peace Forever.

The folks on T.V. say this is how its got to be.
but living with these dreams doesn't feel safe to me.
They all seem so scared, it just doesn't make me feel sure
They'd love to find a better way
to make world peace real. Mama, I might....

Chorus refrain.

Now, me and my frends, well we're thinking real hard.
We've got lots of plans
and you know we never get tired!
With a nap in the afternoon, we can do anything.

So Grandma, hang on, we're going to teach you to sing.
Honey, we might be the ones ...

Chorus refrain.
