An antique victorian sewing box, meant to hold your scissors, needles, thread, etc.

This is such a sweet piece of history and makes a wonderful display item in your studio, sewing room, or just on a tabletop.

This piece measures 4 1/2x7" and looks like a book, the spine says "A Stitch In Time" as if that's the name of the book.
It looks like there used to be some sort of clasp or closure and the only thing left is a small metal knob coming through the front.
Inside is a green foil type paper on one side with bands to hold small scissors, etc. (see 3rd picture).
The other side probably held thread and one of the dividers is missing.

There is also a bottom piece missing which would cause all your contents to fall out so this piece isn't really functional anymore unless you replaced that missing piece with something else.
Someone has written the date 1906 on the front of this in pencil....I've not tried to remove it.

All in all, a very sweet item...I love the front picture of the little girl holding her doll with one hand and the boys hand with her other!
