Hi there chums! This little fella has been selling in the front page treasury all day and now the only one left has slight damage to him, and thus has a 10% discount. I've updated the FIRST picture to show him properly, so you can work out for yourself if you can still love him. It's essentially a 1cm scratch across his eye. It's not super noticeable from a distance. Could you bring yourself to give a wounded bird a home? If he's not for you, please do check out my other birds in my listings! the other photos are stock photos of my other birds xx

A brightly coloured little fella who is an ultra-nostalgic curio from days gone by. He dates from the 50's and was uncovered (with a few of his chums) by my supplier in a old stock warehouse in Tokyo, just begging for a new nest to roost in! He may be almost 60 years old but his colours are as shiny and jewel-like as the day he was minted - photos don't do him justice!

This style of tin brooch is made by lithographing a single sheet of tin and then stamping/cutting it into shape. it's distinctive style and method of production made it cheap to produce, which sadly meant many of them were just discarded, and they've become rarer and rarer to find. He is in excellent condition for his age, only the scar on his eye really marks him He comes on his original backing card, which is in good condition for it's age, and he has the word "Japan" stamped upon him. He secures by a old-school pin and hasp arrangement on the back - perfectly secure but please note, this is a vintage item from the pre health and safety days and therefore is not child-safe.

For size reference, he is about 2" from beak to tail, and the card he is pictured on is about an inch and a half square :D the last two pictures give examples of the backs of these brooches and the other designs I have. These are now all very limited in stock - when they're gone, they're gone!

This item will be sent securely packed and in a gift pouch.

Please check out my other listings for more vintage birds, there is a wonderful flock in need of a home! Convo me with any questions! These ship from my little studio in the UK. please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery to other countries, although it can be more or less depending on your local posties xx
