This beautiful yarn was inspired by one of my favourite plants - the bittersweet nightshade, or Solanum dulcamara. I love all nightshades, they're subtly beautiful, and the blossoms have such a unique look to them, somehow. The bittersweet nightshade is less subtle than the others, though: the flowers are of a stunning purple, with a brightly yellow part in the middle (I think stamen might be the right word for this part of the plant), and the berries are of bright red. The plant is poisonous - but the yarn is a safe way to get close! ;-)

I have spun this richly coloured yarn from my own hand carded fibre blend, containing fine merino wool of vivid green and a vibrant purple; and linen of a warm sunshine yellow.

This beautiful lace yarn will make a gorgeous project, such as a scarf, a lacey cowl, or maybe a shawlette. Lace mitts would also be gorgeous, I think :-)
