Saint Francis is one of the mose widely recognized and beloved saints. This small shrine features a clay bas-relief tile of Saint Francis surrounded by sea shells and moss. The shrine is 5 inches high, 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. A thick layer of celluclay (tinted with acrylic) gives the look of weathered sandstone. The bottom is covered with a felt pad to protect whatever surface you display the shrine on. It is just the right size to fit on a shelf or in a windowsill. It can be used alone or added to a larger grouping of items. I think it would look right at home nestled against a piece of driftwood and surrounded by other shells and a small white voltive candle.

The larger shells in this shrine were collected at Atlantic Beach in North Carolina. The smaller ones came from a delightful little shell shop in Salter Path, NC.

The bas-relief tile of Saint Francis is made with polymer clay and stained to resemble carved wood.
