Fractalverse Galaxy Print - To Sleep in a Sea of Stars

Hello friends!

This mixed media art piece was made by my assistant, Immanuela Meijer. The only prompt I gave for the project was that it should include a galaxy representative of the Milky Way and somehow incorporate a fractal. You’re holding the result, one that I couldn’t be happier with. Of the work she says:

It was important to capture the essence of To Sleep in a Sea of Stars and, consequently, the mystery and wonder of our universe itself. I overlaid a beautiful fractal by artist Spectral on a NASA image of galaxy M74 (since we don’t have a full photo of the Milky Way itself), then hand-painted the color and other elements. Hopefully this artwork sets your mind soaring through space, wondering what the next moment, the next star system, and the next galaxy holds.
