Art Doll John Greenleaf Whittier

My John Greenleaf Whittier doll is the perfect addition to the collection of a poetry lover. Little John is created in black wool pants, white shirt with black tie, and long style black wool coat, I added finishing touches such as white fiber beard, hand painted face, and his own tiny poetry book replica too!

John is a tiny 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 cm) and crafted out of wood, wire, clay, and paint.

John Greenleaf Whittier was born in the year of 1807and died in 1892. He was an influential American Quaker poet and strong advocate of the abolition of slavery in the United States. Whittier's work was strongly influenced by the Scottish poet, Robert Burns. A highly regarded poet in his time and now, he is remembered for his poem Snow-Bound, and the words of the hymn Dear Lord and Father of Mankind, from his poem The Brewing of Soma.
