The Bibliophile is pleased to introduce a book about the works of Alexander Pope. Part of the “Aldine Edition of the British Poets”, this is actually the second volume of Pope’s work. It contains one of his earliest pieces of writing, “An Essay On Criticism”, and his later work “An Essay On Man”, as well as some of his other pieces and poems.

Title: The Poetical Works of Alexander Pope Volume II
Author: N/A
Publisher: George Bell and Sons
Publication Year: 1878
Pages: 333
Size: 11.5 cm x 17.3 cm

This book is in fair to good condition. The boards are green cloth with black and gilt embossing and lettering on the spine and front board and black embossed embellishment on the back board. The green is starting to come unstuck on the inside of the front board. The corners and the top and bottom of the spine are a little bumped through use.

There is some foxing on the first three and last three pages and the occasional pencil mark inside where a previous owner has marked specific lines. But the spine is intact and all the pages are present.

Overall this book in decent condition, especially for it’s age, and a little TLC will keep it going for years to come! If you’re a fan of Pope’s work, this could be the perfect little treat for you.
