"Brilliant!" "Ridiculously funny!" "Really moved me" "AMAZING!!!" —5 star reviews on Goodreads.com
The Incompetent Psychic—Memoir of screw-ups and redemption by an imaginative, insightful (and quite amusing) freelance artist. More reader reviews: "The writing SPARKLES!" & "a GREAT read!"
Fantastical memoir rich with humor and rollicking stories examines life on this planet with help from friends in another dimension. Explores four decades of making & selling art, trying to find meaning in a suburban childhood, good & bad relationships, budget travel, reincarnation, addiction recovery and gaining self esteem in unlikely ways (both humbling & embarrassing). You'll share puff pastries with angels and pizza in the A's locker room. You'll race on sailboats, ski on acid and live with showgirls in Las Vegas. You might face some fears. Money making tips on how to (and how not to) navigate a creative career without a real job. Mernie isn't a wiz with the Cosmic Message Function, but she keeps trying to hear the angels... and the dogs. They talk to all of us.

5 out of 5 starsThis book....wow! I swear she painted these pages of her life with her brush as it is so eloquently written in the many layers that require a rich masterful canvas. Her colors of the great, the bad, and the not so pretty all written with compassion, humility, transparency. If we could all reflect with such brutal honesty. The foreward alone had me contemplating life already. The pages come to life as I read them, much like her artwork does everytime I glance at the many paintings of hers I have adorning my space. A must read!!!

Beautiful painting! Just what my gallery wall needed. 9x12 is a little tricky to find frames for, but I got a simple one at Michaels.
