A very rare Moon Globe Bank made of lithographed sheet metal. No dents, marks or rust. The map is very clean. There is a coin slot at the top and a gray painted cork plug on the base. The stand allows the globe to rotate. Nice colors of gray and slate blue, with a light matte gold base.

Pre-Apollo missions, with the unmapped "Dark Side." It shows the names of craters, lakes, and regions. There are marks for U.S.A. and U.S.S.R. Lunar landing areas named as "soft landings" or "crash sites". Also of interest- the proposed U.S. manned landings for the near future.

Manufactured by Replogle Globes, Inc.,Chicago. 1963 . Produced by Robert I. Johnson, Director Richard M. Grossman and staff, cartographers Adler Planetarium and Astronomical Museum.1 inch equals 360 miles.

A very interesting piece of space history. It would look great on a desk, or to ignite a child's imagination for space travel and Astronomy.
