A cute Modernist Duck figurine in the style of the Danish Architect Hans Bolling, who created a series of teak ducks in the 1950's. This is stamped "Made in Hong Hong" on the base, but the style of the beak, head and eyes are exactly like the Danish version. The only difference is that this duck is sitting, instead of standing on triangular feet.

Very nice teak with a dark patina. The duck's head is tiled slightly, each side seems to have a different expression. Although the form is very simple, the way the light hits the beak and eyes give way to many different views. Contemplative yet simple, a Zen Duck.
