A sumptuous pair of Gold Oyster Shell Salt & Pepper cruet dishes with accompanying golden spoons. The perfect unique gift or self-indulgent treat.

Our Oyster shell cruet dishes have each been carefully gilded and embellished by hand to create a beautiful and naturally unique dish in which to serve salt, pepper or other condiments with the matching spoons.

Each oyster shell cruet set has a luxurious golden finish to its outer shell whilst the inside retains the oyster’s natural white finish, edged in gold. In addition, all salt and pepper sets have had their shell dishes carefully selected and paired with a similar shaped and sized oyster shell to make a set.

Each set of dishes comes housed in a hand-stamped Brandyoak Cottage gift box with a pair of spoons and care card.

Alternatively, should you require just x1 spoon or no spoons, preferring to use as pinch-pots, please select on the option drop down.

Salt and Pepper not included, however please see my other listings should you like to ‘add-on’ any related items such as salt/pepper dish muslin storage bags, extra spoons or a gift-wrapped box of delicious Maldon Sea Salt.

Care:
Our oyster shell dishes are beautifully delicate due to their very nature. To maintain their appearance we recommend simply brushing out any salt or pepper after use and before storing. Alternatively gently wipe with a soft damp cloth. Not suitable for submersion in water, dishwasher or microwave use.

A Note on Creation:
All of our oyster shell dishes have been individually hand embellished and are one of a kind creations, not manufactured in a factory. As a result, each shell dish will have subtle variations from one item to the next, which is caused by hand gilding and the unique natural variations in the shape and size of the sea shells that are used.

Given the unique nature of the items being sold, the description, photos and any measurements listed have been used to portray, in general, the items for sale.

Internal colouration, shape and size can all vary along with the way a shell rests upon a surface, dependent upon the ocean history and natural form of the shell. However, if more specific information is required on any individual pieces for sale or you have any questions, please do get in touch or leave a message at checkout and I’d be happy to help.

About our food contact items:
All of the shells used for our food contact serving dishes are meticulously cleaned and sanitised before having any decoration carefully applied by hand. Once any internal decoration has been applied, this is then coated and sealed using specialist lacquers that are certified as food safe.

About our shells:
All shells used in our listed items are natural and have been sourced locally from within the UK. The majority of our shells are sourced from within the Home Counties - Essex and Suffolk for our oysters, whilst our spiny cockle shells have been collected from beaches in Kent.

Please see the dates detailed at checkout or our FAQs on delivery for our current dispatch times. I make the majority of my items individually to order and leadtimes do vary in the year due to demand.

If you should need an item sooner than the estimated delivery date at checkout, please contact me to see if it is possible to schedule an earlier make and dispatch time and I will do my very best to accommodate requests.

A Note on Dispatch & Delivery:
Once your item has been dispatched I pass over the delivery of your items to the lovely people at Royal Mail. (Thank you!)

UK:
Standard delivery is sent via Second Class post, which Royal Mail advise generally takes 2-3 working days after dispatch to arrive.

For quicker delivery, you can select First Class as an option, which Royal Mail state they aim to deliver the next day after posting, or 1-Day Special Delivery.

**Please note that whichever delivery service is selected, (e.g. Standard or 1-Day delivery etc), this does not alter the leadtime that it takes to make the item, only the method of postal service once an item is ready to dispatch :) **

Overseas:
Packages are sent via Royal Mail International Standard (Airmail), with the postal system advising items take the following number of working days after dispatch to arrive:

-Europe 3-5 working days
-USA 6-7 working days

However, please allow a few more days for items to arrive given international delays due to the current pandemic.

Waiting for delivery:
Occasionally there are delays in the postal system that are unfortunately beyond my control, such as when there is bad weather, busy periods or other events that impact Royal Mail’s expected transit times and that of their overseas counterparts (Christmas, Covid..).

If you have any concerns over when you might receive something by, please do drop me a message before buying and I’ll do my best to help if I can. It may be that I’m able to send out an item that same day or I can find out how much it might be to send via Special Delivery or a Courier to you. If I’m able to, I’ll try to help in anyway that I can xx
