From adversity comes shiny new opportunities...
It's during these moments that identifying them and pulling all the courage together to seize the chance to change can be life altering.

For 17 yrs I worked for one of the largest alcohol distributors in the States from 1999 though 2016 and this last July, my Corporate Finance team was informed that the entire team would be completely revamped and that the reorg would be completed by end of August. I interviewed and applied for positions as they became available and was offered one of the new positions... However, after much thought and consideration decided to turn the offer down. Yes, I turned down an $80k job...however, I turned down and I leave behind the high pressure, high stress, high profile, high maintenance, anxiety infested, soul destroying, body breaking corporate america ciaos behind looking forward to servicing those with alternative healing therapies at a holistic level bringing true emotional, physical and spiritual wellness.

You may have read my personal profile bio...if not...

I am a single mother of 2 boys...so when my busy life was interrupted with a diagnosis of Stage 3 Breast cancer on Friday June 13th in 2008 I was devastated. I had no idea what I was in for at the time...but ended up going thru a living hell I would never wish upon my own worst enemy.

My first mastectomy surgery was July 8th 2008 following with full force chemo for several months and then following with radiation everyday for several months after that. Then just when I thought I had made it, they did a follow up mammo on my right side and found 4 new tiny spots...so the drill happened again with surgery, etc....

To really completely understand and really know what a woman goes thru when she loses her breasts and her life is compromised, is to actually go thru it yourself. I was lucky to have a strong support system at work, at home and with my FRAMILY (friends and family).

Today I am a fighting survivor on Tamoxifen, which is hormone therapy and will do so for at least the next 4 more years. I live life to the fullest and often try to share my story of putting off going to the doctors in hopes that another woman will learn form my mistake. Maybe if I would have went sooner I would still have my natural breasts?? Probably....so we need to educate people as much as we can and bring awareness in hope of saving a person's life from this terrible tragic disease.

Let’s fight together and win this battle and at the same time you get to enjoy a wonderful cute beanie and skinny scarf at the same time ; ) I am donating my time and skills to this cause, $4 for materials and your $11 contribution is a step towards helping a patient during their battle.
