The table runner has been completely hand sewn and hand hemmed. It follows the basic principles of Kontha stitch (origin West Bengal India).

The Sanskrit word kontha means 'rags.' The oldest extent kantha date from the early 1800s and is embroidered with blue, black and red threads that were unraveled from sari borders. Because they were salvaged from used garments that had been frequently laundered, the colors tend to be muted.

The fabric is dupioni silk hand stitched with green thread. The runner measures 70" long and 10" wide.

Dry Clean only.
