Corriedale is a very versatile fiber. Beginning spinners love it because of its pronounced crimp, staple length and ease of handling. It's my favorite for needle felting projects and also has good wet felting qualities.

When I decided to learn to spin it was because of all the beautiful play of colors I saw on those skeins of handspun yarn. I was quickly discouraged with my bag of grey wool. There's no need to go without the pleasure of making a beautifully colored yarn just because you are new to the skill.

With a micron count of 25-31, Corriedale is considered a medium wool. It is suitable for outerwear garments such as hats and mittens.

This top has been dyed in shades of rose and red with a touch of brown.
