This empowerment necklace has beautiful, iridescent 8mm round sea glass beads hung from silver plated European 4 in 1 chainmaille. The chain is hand made from almost 150 silver plated 6mm ID rings. The necklace is finished with a round silver plated toggle. This piece absolutely glimmers around your neck.

The necklace is part of the Catherine of Aragon Collection.

Are you tired of society telling you that you need a man to handle things? Follow the lead of Queen Catherine.

Married by an arranged marriage at the age of 16, Catherine found herself a widow a mere five months after the wedding. Not wanting to have to return her dowery to her family, her father-in-law, the king, kept her a virtual prisoner for five years.

The king thought that a young girl on her own would be easily manipulated, but Catherine proved used the power of her intelligence and education. She was able to negotiate such critical and complex alliances that she became the first female ambassador in Europe all the way back in 1507.

Seeing her power, the king quickly married her to his second son. Of course, this involved getting papal approval which Catherine had no trouble pulling off.

When she was 28, her husband decided to expand the kingdom by invading France. The Scots enemies to the north saw England as weak and easy to conquer left in the hands of its queen.

Imagine their surprise when she suited up in full armor and personally led the attack. The Scots were soundly defeated. The defeat could have happened sooner but Catherine needed to delay to have the blacksmith adjust armor over her heavily pregnant belly.
She sent the bloodied coat of the defeated King of Scots to her husband who was not succeeding quite as well in his military campaigns.

So if you are handling all of the complexities of life on your own, stay strong. Be like Catherine of Aragon and create your own path to your dreams.
