Antique Victorian brass "mourning" brooch with a photo of a long-beared old man. Very stern, very stoic and serious. Pictures back then were serious business. They used to wear these way back when to honor their dead. After burial usually the spouse would wear this out of "respect" until the correct number of days-in-mourning had passed. I don't know how long that is.

This brooch is in excellent condition, it has a c-clasp closure, slightly bent which is the only flaw in the entire pin. I will not bend it back the buyer can choose to or not. It has some beautiful patina on it and the surface area is clear of scratches and dirt.

The frame is made of a twisted brass and is in very good condition!
