One of a kind not only in design but in process as well. These pieces were part of a broad series I did for a summer research project investigating the value of digital tools within crafted ceramics. This series of functional ceramic objects was designed using 3D modeling software and the mold was milled by a CNC router for slip casting porcelain.

The largest bowl is about 6.5" wide and comes with a smaller bowl with a thorn detail and two side dishes. These pieces compliment Asian cuisine and many other uses. All the bowls nest neatly into one another to conserve space on the shelf. A food-safe clear glaze was used and a fine machined texture is evident on the outside of the piece as a unique detail referencing the manufacturing method of the mold. The black color was attained by using mason stains to color the clay itself instead of using a colored glaze. This is an uncommon detail as mason stains are very expensive.

Thank you for looking and consider taking the time to see my other products and portfolio.
