All you medieval goddesses who love sparkles, romance, and purple, these amethysts are for you: Pretty faceted briolettes dropping perkily from gorgeous, chunky, faceted rondelles, ready to wear to the midwinter festivities. The stones - especially the rondelles - have a slight chameleon-like, color-shifting quality I noticed when photographing them, in that the background tends to determine the shade of purple, shifting dark-light and even showing a bit of smoke deep in their depths. Yummy! I've wrapped them simply with copper that I've then aged and burnished, leaving the connectors quite dark, and added fabulous velvet-black hypoallergenic niobium ear wires.

As many medieval goddesses are no doubt aware, the gemstone amethyst is known as the stone of spirituality and contentment, said to bring serenity and peace of mind, while helping one attain wisdom and fully embrace one's spiritual destiny. Amethyst is February's birthstone.

Earrings, Amethyst. Brigit's Romance.
