I draw freehand and paint these cave animals with the inspiration of the wonderful art on the cave walls of Lascaux, France and Altamira, Spain. I paint with earthtone under glazes that are reminiscent of the minerals available to the ancient cave artists. The final glaze is a transparent, with which I cover the under glaze, all of which are lead free. Then I fire them in a stoneware electric kiln. You will be delighted to find that side of the mug is different and each mug is different.
The mug has a strong, easily grasped handle and a capacity of 12 ounces. It is 4&1/2 In. tall and 3" wide.
All my pottery is completely handmade and glazed with safe glazes. Because of the handmade nature of the work it will have some areas that do not look like factory ceramics. Yet it is all functional and handsome or I would not sell it to you.
The filled capacity is 12 oz.. It is 4&½”tall x 3” wide
Note: Although it is fine to pour boiling liquids in this mug, it is not recommended to take this piece from a refrigerator directly into a pre-heated oven.
If ordering outside the United States please contact me with your intended order and I will calculate shipping cost accordingly at that time.
