Smart, professional, and still feminine - it is the perfect definition of the New Look. This wondeful dress features the nipped waist of the post war years, sloped shoulders, and beautifully full skirt. It is a heavy cream textured faille with a subtle shimmer. I love the cuffed 3/4 length - so timeless! It comes with an attached brown scarf, perfect for tying in a bow. Buttons all the way down the front, too. The back of the bodice is pleated, and the skirt is vented. An ideal look for the 1950s fashionista.

One of a few dresses that I've been holding onto from the fantastic designer estate of a woman who ran the John Powers Modeling Agency in Portland, Oregon from the 1950s-70s.

This dress has discoloration at each underarm, but not so much that it is not wearable. I did have this professional cleaned, and unfortunately their attempts to clean the area did flatten/rub the ribbed the faille texture, resulting in a slight dullness, when compared to the shimmer of the rest of the gown. This is mostly hidden by the fold when the dress is worn - the dress is absolutely wearable, and looks wonderful when worn. Priced accordingly.
