For sale is a genuine, signed print titled “Three Rascals” by Kurt Meyer-Eberhard. Kurt Meyer-Eberhard was one of the most well-known, beloved artists of dogs and other animals of all time. Kurt Meyer-Eberhard was born in Leipzig, Germany in 1895 and passed away in 1977. He attended the Weimar Academy of Art and turned down a professorship, unheard of at the time. As an artist, he wanted his freedom to create his works and live his life as he wished. He resided in Munich and held his last exhibition in 1926. His artworks are timeless and are as relevant today as when they were created. He prints are still in great demand and reproduced today using his old copper plates and the same hand tinting process. Kurt Meyer-Eberhard has several artworks of terriers from tiny dogs to fully grown animals. In this piece, he has captured the innocence of puppyhood in exquisite detail. This little picture was purchased and packed away 15-20 years ago and remained untouched. It’s a wonderful little picture and deserves to be seen and hung in a prominent place. The actual image size is about 5-3/4” x 3-3/4”, and framed measures approximately 8-1/8” x 6-1/8.” The print is framed in a simple cardboard matte in an old metal 1920’s frame. About 1/8” around the image on all sides is a penciled line. If you look at the lower left corner written in pencil is “Three Rascals” and the lower right hand corner is his distinctive signature. The print has yellowed over the years and needs to be cleaned, mounted on a new acid free matte and placed in another frame under UV protected glass. Larger size signed prints sell for $1,800 or more. Purchase price for this print is $100. This sale is final and non-returnable because I have described this item as accurately as possible.
